Night Photography in a Nutshell
The next thing to note will be the shutter speed of your camera. All you need to do is start out with an aperture of 2 - 5 seconds with an aperture of around f/5.6 if your depth of field is not a priority. Note that there will be a difference in the exposure of 2 seconds to 5 seconds. You can try it out to see for yourself. If you need a longer exposure, just try the shutter. If your camera is able to go up to 30 seconds of open shutter time, the use of a tripod comes in very handy. Honestly, I do not think you can hold your hand still for even 5 seconds, not mentioning 15 ò€“ 30 seconds. Well, if you could, kindly let me know what training I need to do.Night photos do require a good deal of patience since you"ll be waiting some time for your photo to expose. Extra care is needed in setting the right settings. Using a flash when taking night photos can speed up the exposure time but it really depends on the type of photo you"re taking. Using the flash in the wrong situation may make your photographs dark.
Lastly, avoid noise in your photos by being very careful with your cameras ISO settings. The higher the ISO the less light is needed for the exposure. A thing to note is that noise will reduce the quality of your photos by making them less clear and sharp.
